ISO bell housing.

I need a bell housing . Can be Chevy pattern or BOP pattern. This will be for a engine run stand so I'm looking for something structurally ok . It will never be in a running car . Would prefer local to the Chicago area. Southern wi , western Indiana .

An older car / truck one will be cast iron. Maybe preferable for its intended use?

Whatever works and is available is what I'm after. I have a Ford set up on there with a bell housing and I made the footings and what not. It's home made stand but has been used alot. My olds set up is super sketchy as it was the first thing I had on there lol.

There are no cast iron BOP bellhousings.

Here's a radical thought. If you need both BOP and Chevy, find a blown TH350, TH200, or 200-4R with a unisex case and cut off the bell at the pump. Fabricate whatever brackets you need to mate to your stand.

Actually, you can use a Chevy or BOP bellhousing for either engine on a break-in stand, as they both share two common bolt holes. Unless you're going to load the engine, as in a dyno, two bolts should be sufficient to secure the block to the stand. The dowel holes are all in the same location and they take any torque load.

Or, what do you think about jet boat parts? This is only BOP but it will fit a manual transmission flywheel under it. Aluminum and very thick.

That's exactly what I have for my run stand.

I ended up making footings. Because it just wasn't gonna be to my advantage to wait to get one or ship one. Thank for the help guys. I do plan on making a sheild for the flex plate area. Along with a few other things like a proper gauge panel and throttle lever. And re mounting the fuel cell. This thing has been. Used alot lol.
