Good running V6 Cutlass engine- Buick 231 3.8

Need a complete good runner to get a 86 Cutlass tagged antique in Delaware so then car can undergo a frame off and be swapped with a 455. I know most have junked them but throwing a feeler out.

If you don't find one local in the Delaware area, and don't mind making a short road trip, I have one located in the Albany, NY area.... It's was removed about six years ago from an 84 Cutlass Calais with under 80K miles and stored inside all that time......

Any '86-91 H body will have one, I believe they were all fuel injected so you will need manifolds and maybe some other hardware compatible with turning it into rwd with a carburettor. If you find a complete car keeping the fuel injection has much to be recommended, it's a bit more involved than swapping in an engine from a G body, but finding one might be a problem.
Incidentally I had a Buick Century wagon with a 231 running headers, aftermarket carb and I was told a mild cam. It was never a drag strip hooligan, but noticeably livelier than a stock engined car I drove. It gave good gas mileage too, an important factor in the UK!.

The H-Body V6 would not be a good option since the starter is located on the opposite side of the engine from where the Cutlass V6 starter is located, also the exhaust manifolds will not interchange.... I'm sure there are several other major differences which would be more trouble then it would be worth, especially since the OP mentioned this was only a temporary change....

I didn't suggest it would bolt right in, my point was it might be easier to find one than an engine from an older car.
I believe some F bodies had 231's under the hood. I bet the manifolds from them won't fit either....
