1979 cutlass with Buick 231 to olds v8

Basicly what the title says

I may be getting a 79 cutlass for free! It doesn't run so I was planning on dropping in my 330 motor. Also I was planning on running a 200 r4 trans instead of the turbo 350 becuase I want the overdrive

the questions are can I swap in the 200 in place of the 350 yoke and all? I know the mount is almost 6 inches past the 350s and it is 7/8 of an inch longer but the v8 block is longer than the 231

I know the 200 has to be built and so on but how much fab work is this?

I moved your thread here, since I think this is a better forum for getting responses. You'll need the Olds G-body frame mounts (any 1978-1988 A/G body with an Olds V8 or any 1977-1990 B-body with an Olds V8 is a donor). You'll also need the correct 200-4R crossmember, which is different from the TH200/TH350 crossmembers. The early A/G body cars don't have the frame extension for the 200-4R crossmember, but you can get an aftermarket bracket from Summit, Jegs, etc.

Yeah I put it in the wrong section, cause it was hard to see on my iPhone and I was tired.

I figured that it can be done pretty easy, since the "A" bodies are pretty much an "off-the-shelf" car.

Personally I don't think it's going to take much to get it running. If I can get it running, I'm just going to ddrive it as is until my divorce is over
