factory trunk light wire extension

Is there a short factory trunk light wire extension? If so anyone have a extra one? Thanks Tim

I'm not aware of any. Short is relative, measured length is required. What car is this for? Maybe all of them were the same - I don't know. On my 71 CS convertible the wire is orange with a Packard 56 end terminal on it. I'm not looking at it as we speak, so I'm shooting from the hip.

Evidently yours is too short? You're sure the wiring loom from which the Orange wire protrudes for the trunk light isn't misaligned or fastened down incorrectly creating too short of a path in which you might loosen the wire loom tie-down and try to reposition that wire loom?

What type trunk light do you have? Hinge mounted or the type mounted on the trunk lid?

Hi Norm, its the stock 72 cutlass trunk light works off the hinge, on the drivers side, I saw inline setup comes with a extension wire, and trunk wiring has never been messed with so in original location, seems like there should be a 1 ft wire from connector to light? Thanks Tim

Tim - I looked at my wire loom/harness, orange wire & trunk hinge light assembly. I have no such extension. My trunk light (orange) wire feeds directly out of the wire loom. The wire loom /harness has ~4 Packard 56 end terminals located between the left rear side-marker parking/turn signal (of the inner rear fender) and the first left side tail light assembly - these terminals feed the various rear lamps, tail lights, backup lights, etc. I have no such extension on my 1971 CS convertible. I took a brief look at Inline Tube & noted an extension available for Pontiac GTO of two varieties - hardtop & convertible, but saw nothing for a Cutlass.

Tim - What do you currently have as the wire running to the hinge trunk deck lid? Does your current wire (I assume it's orange) have a Packard 56 female or male end terminal attached to it? This is the wire which is too short, correct? If that's the case, will the 1' extension wire work?
This is the one I see at Inline Tube for the GTO.
