Cruise control transducer wanted

I have a 1977 Delta 88 pace car that I think is in need of the cruise control transducer that mounts on the driver’s side inner fender near the brake booster. The speedometer stopped working so it turned out to be the lower speedometer cable so I replaced it. Worked fine for 1/2 a day and then stopped. Put in cable #2 and it did the same thing. Something is binding the cables and breaking them. Looked at the transducer where the lower cable connects and it doesn’t want to turn, so I’m guessing it’s causing the problem. Can these units be rebuilt? Even if so, I’m in need of a working unit now.
Thanks.

Disconnect all cables (both to the transmission and to the speedo) from the transducer and see which part / section is binding, then focus on why.

Disconnected both cables, lower connection which is the short cable to the speedo cluster turns freely, upper connection sticks and seems to be hard to turn at times. Corrosion? Gave it a quick shot of WD40 to see if it will let it move freely. Will need to buy a new cable this week to see if that will work. Would still like to purchase another unit in case I can't get this one to work. I have to use the GPS function on my phone or guess how fast I'm going. The second method is less reliable. If I think I'm going too fast, I probably am. I'd hate to get pulled over and asked by the trooper "Do you know how fast you were going?" only to respond with "No, officer, but you're going to tell me."

Well, at least your speedo and the cable to it is not binding. Sounds like you've confirmed the transducer is where the binding is occurring (the cable going to the transmission won't be expected to turn at all since the speedo gears in the trans will prevent this). If the part linked by svnt442 is like your transducer, it'll probably be best to just replace it. In the mean time, it appears like there is some gear reduction between the input and output cable connections, which could be really gummed up. It may be possible to disassemble your original transducer and resolve the binding problem and they you'll have a spare. Good luck.

I am certain I have one, used of course. I have a '77 Delta 88 Pace Car, and also had a parts car that had one. If you want to go with the new one I understand. I would need to check mine to make sure it spins first. Just let me know.

I went down to my local Advance Auto Parts to order the part through them with no luck. The clerk was on his computer and phone trying to locate the part with no success. It is unavailable with no information about when, or even if, it will be in stock. Looking for a good used unit. At least the lower cable was still available...

Found! I was able to purchase a good working unit from a member here. Thank you very much. It's good to have a working speedometer again.
Thanks.
