Cruise Control Servo for 72 Cutlass

I know it may be a lost cause, but I am looking for a cruise control servo for a 1972 Cutlass. I also need the mounting bracket, the rod that connects to the throttle. Of course, I would like one that works, but I would take one that looks decent but doesn't hold a vacuum. That would hold me over until I could get a working one. Thanks!

I must be blind.

Thanks for providing that link. I went on e-bay (as a last resort) but didn't see this. It's more than I would have liked to pay, considering I will probably knock the chrome off.

Thanks again!

I picked up a NOS servo only for $134 about 4 years ago.
They are not cheap at all, but are becoming rarer by the day.
If you find a nasty used one with good rubber, get it, as they restore easily.
Hope you can find one!

I've got one on a project car, but I'll be needing it. I need to check but I don't think it looks like the chrome one on ebay. If it would help I could take some pictures of mine for you, it came on a 1971 Cutlass wagon.

The one on ebay is like the original I used to have. I plan on stripping the chrome off and hopefully it will be decent looking underneath. I will still need the linkage, though. Thanks for checking.

Rob,

I was directed to one on ebay that I bought that had been chromed, and I bought it. I plan on stripping the chrome off and hopefully the metal is good underneath. But like you said, as hard as they are to find, I figured I better jump on it while it was available. Thanks.

I did not know you were the winner - glad you got it.
If the metal back of the servo is bad (which I doubt), i have an extra from a servo with trashed rubber.
When I restored my servo I etched it and used walmart brand "aluminum" paint and it matched the silver cad of the NOS one i have. Cheap and perfect - who would have thunk it?

The part came in today and it looks pretty good. The diaphragm looks brand new. Of course, the metal could look like crap under the chrome. If it doesn't polish up very well, then I will probably try the same thing you did and paint it with aluminum paint. Hopefully, this will be last part I have to buy to have everything under the hood back to original. At least that is what I told my wife. Maybe she believes me.

I just checked the one I have. It has the accordion rubber with the metal disc on both ends the same diameter. Maybe they used different ones from different factories, or the 71 and 72 were different.

I had recently seen a 71 with cruise and it had the accordion type so I figured it was a difference between model years. I suppose that it could have been a factory difference, too. All I knew was that I had taken the servo off my car a long time ago when it quit working but I remembered that the diaphragm was relatively flat. At any rate, now I have one and I can check that off my list. I actually checked off two things today. My horn worked today for the first time in 5-6 years. Yea!

I think the 'pancake' style servo came on in '72 or late '71. Before then it was the accordion style, which is shared with some old Jaguar cars. I heard they were interchangable, too
