Capacitor DR .5MF

Hi, looking for a capacitor for my 70 442 that gets plugged into a lead from the steering column harness. I went to that other site EB and found capacitors but they all had a different connecters than mine. Also my capacitor does not have a part number on its face like the ones that were listed. I took a picture from the 70 Oldsmobile Assembly Manual Section 1-1, page 102 for reference.

You may be able to slide the plastic connector off and install it on the new capacitor lead.

I was thinking about that but wanted to see if anyone had one available. I appreciate the response, thanks.

Just about any similar capacitor will work. They are used for noise suppression for your radio. The terminal on the end of the wire can easily be removed by sliding a tiny screwdriver in from the wire end and releasing the clip. The terminal itself is a crimp terminal and can be re-crimped or soldered (better yet) to the wire on your new cap. Open up the little lock piece that you bent down to remove the terminal from it's housing a bit and slide the terminal back in to the housing. You should hear/feel it snap in to place. A gentle tug will let you know right away if it seated or not. If not, pry the little lock piece up a bit more and try again.

Thanks Randy, I just came across one in a parts box and will switch it around to accept the other plug end.
