Body side molding fasteners

Body side molding fasteners
I just bought the plastic molding tensioner clips from Fusick that helps hold the body side moldings to the fender, door, and quarter panel for my 72 Cutlass S but cannot find the oval shaped piece with the stud on the back (see photo below of one I borrowed from a friend's Cutlass Supreme) that goes into the door on both ends.
where can I find this piece? Fusick catalog shows a similar piece for cars up through 1971 but my car is a 72. are the pieces different?

Your "oval" fastener is actually missing the plastic spring leg. It's essentially a plastic version of this fastener. You can use the all-metal ones; the plastic serves as an anti-squeak and seals the hole in the body. Use a dab of sealer when you install the fastener for the same affect. All the trim clip vendors sell this clip in several sizes.
