blower motor for a super 88

Hi i'm looking for a blower motor for my 1956 holiday coupe Oldsmobile. The car is without A/C.
Does anyone have one for sale?? It may be an orginal one (it has to work of course ) or perhaps NOS.

kind regards

Davy

Davy, have you checked Fusick for a blower motor?

Fusick does not show blower motors for any 1950s Oldsmobile. Rockauto doesn't show one for this car. My guess is that new blower motors are not available and that the OP will have to have his fixed or find NOS or a functioning used one. But I'm sure the '50s guys on here will know for sure.

If you have to have an exact 1956 blower motor so you won't lose points, you need Group 8.855, part number 5047721 (page 561 in your '57 Master Chassis Parts Book).

However, the blower motor for many 50's and 60's Olds will fit. The blower motor in my '56 is from a 64 to 67 Olds, part number 5044558.

Cars with A/C in that era had an additional blower just for that system, on the other side of the firewall.

Unless it is a rusted heap take it to a generator/ starter shop . Often they can re brush the motor and get it going again. Also many moons ago a electrical shop found the same (for a 55) heater motor replacement in a Granger catalog and ordered for me. Took him some time but he found it. don't know if Granger still has it listed anymore and it was by the manufactures number ( Delco Remy) not Oldsmobile's number he told me..... Tedd

Hi thanks allready for the responses.
The first thing i did was i went to a shop where they restore starters and generators bud they weren't reluctant to fix it.
Then i checked fusick and wrote them a mail witch they answerd and told me a younger model motor would fit.
Bud like ignachuck wrote i would like to keep it as orignal as possible. I found a NOS one bud with the shipping cost and taxes it could cost met about 650 $.
That's way to much .
I think i will check again for rebuilding it ...
thanks guys

I'm not sure if the one jollyolds has is the correct vintage or not. If not, I've got two parts cars, 1954 88 and 1955 98 that have fans. I'd need to pull them to test before I can say for sure I've got what you need. John

Here's what it looks like. All but two of the screw holes lined up perfectly.
