77 Cutlass Brougham Rebirth need drivers side exhaust manifold
Hello,
I bought a 77 Cutlass last year that had been stored in a polebarn since 94. 56,000 original miles very nice shape. 350 4barrel runs great. I have worked out most of the bugs and now am needing a driver's side exhaust manifold. I had a muffler shop install a new exhaust system and was told that the driver's side exhaust manifold has a crack. My mechanic and I checked it out and found this to be the case. I know how much effort it can be to remove the original to replace so he will tackle that one. Problem is that I need to locate one for replacement. The muffler shop said that there were several different types used on Olds Cutlass for that year ,but I can't seem to verify that. Several people said to just leave it, but I want to quiet it down and keep it stock. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Paul Owen

Welcome to the site, add your location. I moved your post to the parts wanted section, hopefully someone has one close to you. As long as the bolts aren't too corroded, it should pop right off.

If you can't find one soon;
Prior to installing the headers on my 76 I had a manifold leak on the drivers side as well. I'm fortunate to work in a Tool and Die shop and have .001 all the way up to .05 shim stock. I cut a few pieces of .005 shim ( just need a good pair of scissors) then pushed them into the thin crack (engine cold) and bent the excess over the manifold. It worked until I put the headers in.
Hope this helps

I have several down here in sunny South Florida. Email me for pics, etc.: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

Thornton's reproduce manifolds for Olds 455s and olds 350s for the good years which still fit the smoggers. Though my car fits in the smogger years, no components will ya see of that under the hood on the newly built olds 455.

They probably do, but I'm not positive. You would have to check their site. I think I have close to $800 in my system and installed it myself. Had to do some fab on it to get it to work. Not many options for 77 so I used a 73 system.

Finally got the exhaust manifold. Arrived last Saturday, but with our unique Postmaster and her interesting ways it wasn't until today after my complaining that she came up with a mysterious package. Oh well. Big thanks to Ron!
