You need to find one from a '73-'74; '75 was the first year for catalytic convertors and the last for true duals.

FTFY

When they introduced the catalytic converter exhaust systems GM completely did away with true dual exhaust, even on the Corvette. They didn't start changing back to true dual systems until the mid 90's

You can also use one from a '73/'74 Chevelle, Monte Carlo if that helps expand your search.

Don't think Skylark will be wide enough. Century would work...as will Grand Prix, Grand Am, also. DO NOT use an El Camino/Sprint, though.

Check with Fusick Oldsmobile parts or YearOne I remember seeing what you are looking for at one of those companies.

I couldn't remember if the skylark was an A body or X body those years. I looked it up and It appeared to be an A body....meh. There is also the Buick Special, but I don't know if they used that name before cats or not. A friend had a 76 special with a 231 in it. It was faster than my 75 Cutlass with a 260....that's not saying much.

There are some aftermarket ones being sold. Personally, I like the looks of the originals rather than the chopped, boxy look of the repros...but, they do the job. I've even seen people cut and weld their own from a single exhaust crossmember.

Is this car just a driver? I have one off a 76 that the guy welded for dual exhaust. It's not pretty, but I'll sell it cheap.

Looks like a sturdy crossmember but looks more like a gbody crossmember .

Wouldn't a g body one be 2" narrower? This measured 52 1/2" and was on a 76 S at one time before being scrapped. That's all I know.

Yes the gbody crossmember is narrower , I suspect the guy who built that one just used a gbody crossmember and made it the appropriate width for a 76 . He more than likely would have had to redrill holes in the frame as well .definately creative .

You do realize the 75-77 ones are angled to clear the catalytic convertor just like the G body?

Yes I do I have one of each sitting in my garage both are originals and the 75-77 doesn’t have no where near the bend in it that the gbody one or the pic above has .either way if the one pictured above was in a 76 and the op wants to use it by all means use it .

64-72 convertible will work, you just need to drill your own holes in the frame. I have one from a coupe and it's 54" wide. I installed it and drilled two new holes.
