Originals are still around, but likely discolored. If wanting a nice white bottle you'll probably have to go repop route. Reproductions are available from the main Olds vendors (Fusick, Parts Place, etc.). The kits are $200 and include the bottle, bracket, & radiator cap.

I have this one, pulled from a 71. No leaks but is missing the cap, $25 + ship.

I did look up re-pops and they are running for $270+ and way too much since my 72 is a driver, no way dishing out that much...I actually need a cap but since finding a cap has been challenging I thought I can find the full unit.

Lol, I have the exact bottle but need the cap only... Any idea how to go about getting a cap? Closest fit I've gotten is baby food Gerber cap

I still have my tank and parts off my 70 Cutlass SX which I took off a 72 Cutlass. I'll check on Wed.

Did you make that bracket, or did that come with the car?

It's the same bracket tru blu showing in his pics; my set up came with my car but prior owner must've junked the stock set up and installed this aftermarket unit.

Dorman sells a similar looking overflow tank set up for not a lot of $ they may also sell the cap separate idk

Edit dorman 91663 is similar and comes w cap n hose under 20 on rockauto they also have some oe replacements for newer cars so you might see something that fits or looks better.

There is no way that repop should cost that much. I guess it is called supply and demand. I wonder what it cost to make it.

If you just want a nice looking overflow tank that will actually look original, I mounted a windshield washer jug on the passenger fender liner. It sits at just the right height and they're designed to fit either side, depending on options. Had to enlarge the I.D. of the cap I salvaged off my retired 70 Cadillac. I think it looks great.

I have been doing the washer bottle repurpose since the early 80's, works well. IIRC the earlier cars (68-69?) had a black bottle & the later (70-72) had a white bottle. Caps for those are available aftermarket FWIW & make sure you have the length of tubing inside the bottle connected to the cap.

The aftermarket "basket" style pictured above is a simple, cheap, effective setup. I have that in the blue car, fastened to the OAI hood lock bracket & rad sppt w/ some minor mods to the mounting tabs.

I have a couple of under hood photos, but I can't find where to insert the 35MM negative into the computer.
I'm a caveman with no internet. I've never posted a photo before, but maybe I can get one of the pretty young ladies at work to help me.

Anyone tried one of these? They look really close! It might be worth the $28 shipped for it, just to try it. Mine is currently held in place with a makeshift bracket without a cap. Which I never gave much thought too, because many cars just have the line down to the ground. At least I'm containing it.
