72 convertible top 2nd bow fabric retainer

Hi all
looking to see if anyone has the 2nd bow fabric retainer. It goes on top of the bow and is t shaped? To hold down the middle of the roof from flapping when driving
if anyone has a decent one that would be great let me know
thx Mike

I searched for one of those for my car a while back and got folks offering to sell me one for upwards of $80, so I just made one instead. I used a length of 1/2" square rubber gasket, slipped it into the sleeve on the convertible top, then used four pan head black phosphate screws to secure it. It worked very well. A few years back I looked into some aluminum material to make a retainer, but it's one of those projects that isn't a high priority and it got put off.

From what I recall, the factory metal one is not actually T shaped, but is a square channel with a gap down the center. The mounting screws bite into the edges of the gap to secure the retainer into the recess in the bow.

I made mine out of a flat piece of 1/2 in wide aluminum. Put it in place mark the holes for the retainer screws. Drill the holes use short screws and grind the tips of the screws down to the point where they hold well but will never be touched by the canvas top.

Mine worked well.

Scissor top

I may have what you're looking for.
I dismantled a few of these tops and sold them of piece by piece.
I think I know which piece your describing but I'm not sure.
I can look over the weekend if you have no luck before then ,
Jim
