'71 Cutlass convertible sun visors
The stitching on the edges of my sun visors are fraying out. I've gone to 4 different car upholstery guys and none can repair them. Because they are the originals, they are thicker than the repops, so their needles can not penetrate to do the sewing.
I'm looking for a black set of sun visors for a '71 cutlass convertible. Any one out there got a decent set? I've got repops on my Olds now, but they are much flimsier than the originals and I don't like the way that they shake in the wind when the top is down.

If it's just the stitching that's coming loose or deteriorating, you can sew them by hand. I did this on the visors in my convertible back in 1990. I used a large sail needle (I think that's what it was called) and some heavy thread. I removed the original thread, then went through the existing holes with the needle and thread.
