71-72 cutlass S driveshaft

After replacing a rear axle in my 70 Cutlass S with one out of 71 I realized that the damn driveshaft is too long. I need a driveshaft from 71-72 cutlass 350/350 10 bolt. Let me know how much shipped to 95117

71-72 cutlass S driveshaft

I have numerous driveshafts down here in rainy south Florida, but it may be cheaper to have it shortened at a driveshaft shop. If you would rather replace it and can't find one locally, I have shipped them all over the country. Drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.

When I changed trans and rear, I started looking for used too. But considering I would get 40 year old U joints and yoke, I would end up replacing those. Then the possibility of having the length modified would cost more. Oh yeah, and balance it too.
It was cheaper to order a new custom length.

Do you know how long it should be? I have one, I think is out of a 70, and I would think they are the same? I live in Hayward, so you could pick it up instead of shipping.

70 Cutty, I measured my shaft, it is 57 1/2 overall, and 56 center hole to hole.

I have one out of a 71 442 with a 4 speed, meaning it is a solid drive shaft, not a 2 piece with the rubber insulator. It has the TH350 yoke already installed and the u-joints are in good used condition. The length center of u-joint to center of u-joint is 54 3/8, overall length is 55 3/4. Let me know if this will work for you.
