If your car is a 72? No problem. If it's a 71? You need to consider the mounting.

selling grilles only
Do you realize the grills for 71 and 72 don't mount the same? The 72 grills needed to have the radiator support modified so they would fit. 71 grills sit back like the 442 grills, 72 grills sit forward in the grill opening.

Allan I believe he means 1971 442 OR 1972 442 grilles. These interchange with no issues and mounting is the same for each. I have 1971 442 grilles in my 1972 442 race car. Only the cosmetics is different.

1. The 72 442 numerals were 'orange/red' with chrome outline and the 71 442 numerals were black with chrome outline.
2. The grills outer trim molding is also slightly different. In 71 there is a raised line in the middle of the trim, on 72 it is on the outside of the trim. This matches up with the patterns on the hoods grill reveal moldings.
