My interpretation is if its W-30 it gets Heavy Duty Cooling , shroud , 6 bladed , clutched fan & 4 core
therefore a #3 HDC pump #407536 , wich due to coarse castings is also # 407586
Going to check flange dimensions on the #1 pumps & will post any variation from 5.1 data suggests

Joe P mentioned discrepancies with water pump data but neglected to be specific

You pump choice should have same dimension as cars current one or you' ll require diffrent punp pully with correct offset


Without A/C , Heavy Duty Cooling , Outside Air Induction ( W-30) , or performance axle 3.90 or better is quick refrence w/#1 on padssengers side above inlet & has 5.1 flange dimension & is castin # 408328 & are 2 nd rarest ones here...I put the oem cast HDC impeller in them to up the gpm flow rate

Pumps with # 3 for quick reference are for 455s with A/C , HDC , W-30s ,and/ or perfornance axle
pump has 6.1 flange dimension , casting # 407586 /536

The 407586 water pump is the correct pump for all vehicles in 1971-72 with AC.
The 408329 water pump is the correct pump for all 1971-72 W30's
The 408328 water pump is the standard non AC or HD water pump for 1971-72

Being HDC & #1 NOT BEING HDC for 71-72...having dificulty with man who assumes hes only one with an order & under impression his non - postal money order somehow expidted his order as well as cost me $20 to cash so that trackin # is currently occupying brain cells I could use to remember #1s casting #..& will until any & all negative comments from unnessarary worrying have been retracted & that person WIL understand...or not...

NOT saying anyone's indata is incorrect but certainly want everyones opinion as selling / shipping wrong parts is NOT what were all about here
Two people have exptessed extreme intrest in a #2 & a #3 & until I get caught up on shipping , all other orders will only be accepted with understanding of me being 2 weeks out on shipping or 10 if you think interfereing expidites your order..*.Wil wait n see *

Was I killin you Smaltz! Block date is 239 heads 212. Would like the pump with the large 2 on it. 408329 is the correct pump. Hope that’s enough to seal the deal. $350 is going out today. All the best. Mark Norris.
