71 - 442 Carburetor

Looking for the correct carburetor for my 71 - 442. I think it's Q-jet #7041257. The car is original OAI (not W30), AT, and a/c. LMK

Thank you,

John

HI

That is the same # as the W30 cars
I have seen them for crazy expensive $$$

I do have one on my car. You can buy the car and have carb for free! LoL

I do have a 7040257 and a 7041251 that are available. Sorry I know not exact what you want. But just thought I would let you know

Sorry, no 7041257. Have 7041251 and 7041250.
Do have access to a 7042953 72 W30.

Hope you find what you are looking for. I will keep my ears open.

If Quadrajet can't find one, I have a disassembled one from a 71 W30 I parted out 30 years ago

For $2000 I can do without. I was hoping to find a reasonably priced rebuildable core.

Thanks anyway,

John

Dammit Bry, Stop it, lol. Your gonna scare him off...
John, I have a 7042251 from a 72 455 if you have a good base plate.
It will need a kit for sure, but the inlet threads are good. PM me if interested.

I do have a 7041251 on the car now, just thought if I could find the right carb. I would keep it all original. At this point the carb. and the tilt steering column I put on it are the only non-original parts on the car. Thanks for the offer.

No problem. Good luck with the hunt, that's 1/2 the fun.

I always thought so, no? The price sometimes after you find those elusive parts can be a bitch.
Nose back on the trail. Are we having fun yet? Hoping so.

Yes, I do like a good hunt. Problem is all the good hunting spots are long gone. At least around here they are.

Still looking, a rebuildable core or really a decent center casting for a 7041257 carb is all I need.
