Question 70 ignition coil

Can anyone out there tell me how to identify an original ignition coil for a bb 442. And were i might get one

Original coils have stamped numbers on the case. I believe 1970 442 should have the number 238 on there. I'll check for sure. Most folks just use a black one, can't tell the difference.

they show up on ebay and look like the first attachment

as stevengerard notes, it is stamped, not screened on like the second attachment

For the 1970 442 the coil should be embossed with "216". I don't believe this number was available as a service part so you need to find a used one. I think I saw one advertised here recently.

I have a couple good used 238s and 1 216 if you still need.
