70 floor shifter parts or whole

I have a 70. Floor shifter seems to be functional, however I am missing the T shaped thing under the ball that locks the shifter in place. I do not know where it is. I think It might be gone. It was never attached to my project that I know of.

In any case, anyone have that part? I think I see the replacement ***** online.

I am going to convert it to a overdrive.

i should add: the shifter I have I had soda blasted. The "chassis" of it is perfect and ready for paint. It is primered to keep from rusting. If that makes it worth it on a trade for a working one?

is it a regular shifter or a dual gate. Dual gates don't have the T you pull up on

regular shifter. What stopped the shifter from moving?

Anyhow, I found the ball. There was a chunk of metal attached to it and looks like ti broke off something inside the hole on top of the chrome shift stick. I am guessing that rendered the shift stick useless?

Anyone have the whole shifter, or just the stick?

dual gates have notches so you need to move shifter to the right to pull it out of park.

I see the handle for sale often I know they very from application to application but they are out there

Investigated more, and still need it. I can't find a reproduction anywhere.

Anyone have a shifter laying around?

'70 auto floor shifter

I can't tell from the pic that you posted, but it appears that the chrome shifter "stick" is still good. I have a '70 shifter base, with the stick and internals, that has a piece broken out near the bottom. If your stick is good, you could use the internals from the one that I have, and make one good shifter out of two. Email me for pics etc.: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.
By the way, if you're going to an overdrive all you need to buy is a new gate for the top of your shifter, to allow the extra detent.
