Exclamation '70-'72 Vista or 4 dr sdn dogleg sections

Hey people, I'm looking for left and right dogleg and wheelwell opening sections for '70-'72 VC or 4dr sdn. Obviously rust free. I would rather section in good used pieces than to fab. I'm located in Long Island, NY. Could travel a few hours for good pieces otherwise would have to be reasonably shipped. Thanks!

Did you see the post by jensenracing77 in the newbie forum about the '70 Vista doors he has for sale? He says the body he has left is solid if I'm reading it right.

i have a very solid vista. it is an arizona car now in indiana. if you want i can e mail pictures. i will have to look at it again but can't remember there being any rust. i just did look at the doors and they have no rust at all. i will sell the hole car or just parts. the shell doors and frame are all that is left. the interior is there but the arizona sun roted it out.

I would buy the car for that in a minute if you weren't 1,500 mi away. I'm on LI , NY...I'm interested in both rear wheel well openings and doglegs. Must be rot free...if you are willing to get out the sawzall and cut out those and ship to me we can make a deal. If they are as clean as you think check them out and e-mail actually PM me some pics. wheel wells and doglegs inside jamb too...if you can cut and ship, I'll give you $400 and you can keep the rest of the car...let me know...thanks

the car is at my mom and dads. i will be going out there Saturday. i am not sure what the "dog leg" is. mostly how high you want and front to back you want. i can cut them out but the shipping i am not sure what to do. i have never shipped something that large before. i guess i had better get you pictures first. if it is what you want i will be more than happy to help out. this is another car i saved from the demo derby. i enjoy a good derby but not when it is rust free cars. especially Oldsmobile's

No problem, yes, pics first is a good idea, the "dogleg" is the area at the front of the rear wheelwell on a 4-dr, they call it that 'cause if you look at a dogs rear leg, that's what it's shaped like! I am waiting on DVAP as they are trying to "negotiate" with me on a lower price for what they have, but I'll try to stall them until I recieve pics from you...I rather see someone who deserves the money get it.

DVAP still has my money, I still don't have what I need...they finally sent me pics(after I've been bugginig them since day one when the charged me over a month ago, and they wouldn't have even done that if I didn't finally have to get nasty and threaten them with legal action) and the pics they send me they cut the stuff already and tell me "the rust is the size of a quarter" , I look at them and the stuff is as bad as what I've got almost....take a look at this crap they want to sell me (actually sold me as they have my money) ...

Hey Erik, it is painted that cool shade of purple though, that has to factor in the price, seriously I wouldn't think that one side would even be worth trying to sell let alone pay to ship all the way across the country, good luck on your search.

oh yeah I dont remember the quarters being 6 inches in diameter in AZ

Thanks, I think the car belonged to Barney's parent's at one time. Either that or it was the official team car of the Minnesota Vikings in the '70's...you would think as a coutesey they would give it for free! Yeah, I don't think they heard of a sawzall there yet...

For rust the size of a quarter, that looks pretty extensive.

2blu442, I'm almost positive the rear wheelwell openings are the same on a 4-dr and dogleg the same, if you have pics please PM to me if sheetmetal is clean and you are willing to make a deal, also on the fender bottoms. Jensen, send pics of what you have...thanks guys!

Wow! So where's the rust free patches they promised? That does not look much better than the LI sheet metal you have now. Hope you can get your money back from them.

Looks like Jensen should have what I need, just waiting on a few more pics, if not 2blu442 could be a good back up as he has a 4-dr sedan he is parting and I'm pretty sure the doglegs and wheelwells are the same...I guess if you took a vista wheel opening molding and put it up to the 4-dr wheel opening and it matches up, that should give a good idea...wish me luck....
