look I here you but will speak with experience here. buy a new one even at car shows they probably will not check the numbers period. original parts if that is what your after are very expensive. the newer shifters look about the same and are brand new. I have a aftermarket hurst dual gate and someone tried to steal it also and compared it to a older model and it almost looks the same. I understand if you are doing a correct restoration then there is no choice but if just a driver think about the dollar amount you can put elsewhere.

 

Ken, which year do you need, 70 shifter base is different than 71-2, or if you only want the gate they are all the same. I have some of each. see pics
