Looking for an excellent condition black, driver side seat belt retractor that operates freely, with good chrome on the buckle. Must have good clean webbing. Date code not important, neither is the condition of the plastic cover.
Mine does not retract as it should.
Pictures of mine below.
must be willing to ship to Ky.
thank you!
Tim,
Have you tried adjusting the retracting spring tension? That is fairly simple and may correct your issue. At least it was simple on my 1968 version(s). The spring is anchored in the cover. The plastic cover may be removed by gently prying a small flat screw driver between the cover and the bracket, working your way around the cover, with "little bites." Just be careful when removing the plastic spring cover from the metal bracket, for two reasons. 1) you may break off the retaining tab/nubbin(s) from the plastic cap, and 2) the cover and/or spring could go SPRUNGGG... across the room.

Maybe one of them can help, in their inventories, or fix what you have.
There is not much left out here in western desert, good metal pieces, but plastics, rubbers and vinyls are shot.
