69 center console repair piece needed

(No longer need parts) Might be a bit of a long shot but I am trying to save a center console for a 69 4 speed. I am looking to see if someone has a trashed console that may have a salvageable rear lower section they are willing to sell. I think the 64-69 is the same. See picture below of what I need. Any color will work since I am going to dye it when repaired. PM me if you have something.

This may not be helpful, but one thing you can do in case you can’t get the replacement you’re looking for is to cobble up (aka cut-to-fit) a piece of plastic for the void you’re looking to fill. Glue it in. Or, if it’s in a place that people will kick, support it with some L or angle brackets for strength.

Then skin the entire console in leather or a matching (probably Madrid grain) vinyl. I had to do this with my 66 98 convertible door panel switch arms. I never noticed the clean, but not correct, more or less ever. It might look different from factory, but it looks consistent & right.

Just a thought
Chris

Oh - this is a good time to consider where you might want to add cupholders on the side of the console and maybe some Impala belt buckle retainers.

I just added the buckle clips and am very happy with the idea that they won’t damage my (now rare) console every time someone gets in/out.

Cheers
Chris

Thanks for the ideas Chris! The car this will go in is a #’s matching pretty original car so I’m gonna try and keep it looking original if I can. We will see what turns up. They repop the plastic lower section, but I love a challenge to try and save things!

Thanks Brett. I think the auto consoles are a totally different shape though. More squared off in the back. Send a pic and I’ll check it out. I do have some old kick panels that I might be able to get some pieces off and make a wooden buck and then heat the plastic kick panel piece to get it to bend into the shape I need.

No longer need parts. Made the repair with some old kick panel pieces and heat to get the curvatures right. Thanks anyways to those that looked for stuff.

thank you sir! I love saving original pieces. I love the SEM texture spray to restore the grain look on these kinds of pieces. Once I re flock the console and reassemble will be good as new.

What did you use for glue? I thought the kicks and console were dissimilar plastics.
It turned out awesome! I need to repair my original, but just bought a TPP base.

The kick panels I stole some material from were actually from a parted out 2004 mustang we had leftover parts from. I probably used about 5 pieces to make all the repair pieces. I used Gorilla 2 part epoxy to glue it all up. That stuff does well with plastic and lasts in hot environments. Used gaffer tape to hold it together while I glued.

Once i glued it all up I carefully sanded the glued edges to knock them down flat trying to save as much grain as I could. Then used some plastic body filler to smooth it out.

Finally a couple coats of SEM texture spray to recapture the grain look and then SEM landau black.
