68 glovebox lock
I have one out of a 69 H/O but I don't have a key. I can't remember how to get them out of the lid. I will look it up and see if i can do it without the key? If I can get it out, how about $20 shipped.
I have been able to remove the nut/ escutcheon by applying a continuous CCW force to it while wiggling the lock backside CW/CCW. Each tiny bit of movement gets you a little more nut motion, and pretty soon it is loose enough to come right out.
You are supposed to depress the tang that you can almost see, lock side, thru that tiny hole, then insert the [or any] key to hold that tang down. Then the lock cyl will slip right out. This is supposed to be done with THE key, and possibly in the locked position.
If you don't have THE key then try the finger method to remove the nut.
Or, copy the code off your trunk cylinder or console cylinder and any locksmith can make a key.
I have the key code book if it comes to that.
