68-72 cutlass/442 side window parts

Hey all, I am restoring a '72 442 coupe and over time the body shop lost some parts for the side windows to be reinstalled into the doors. I am not for sure exactly what they look like since they are missing but the windows themselves have posts through the bottom of the glass that are threaded and I need the part(s) that go on the interior side of the glass to hold it in the door track. Can anyone help with this? Thanks, Randy

Randy, I have all the window guts and quarter window gut for your car. It sounds like the piece you need has a bar that runs thru it to guide the window straight. It mounts on the bottom of the glass. I can send you some photos of the piece, I sell them for $20.00 ea for the main piece. Thanks,Joe

Randy, the info you are looking for about what is needed will all be in the 1972 Fisher Body Manual. There are detailed cutaway pictures of the door components there. I'd make the body shop buy the manual and the parts since it was through their negligence the parts went missing in the first place. The manual looks like this:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Genuine-Deale...#ht_1393wt_913 Don't be fooled into thinking this is only for Chev - it contains info about ALL GM car lines (except speciality like vettes) for 72

Thanks Alan, and you're not going to believe this but I provided the body shop with this manual at the same time I gave them the car (over two and a half years ago) and he lost the manual too... uggg. It looks as though another member has ample parts to help us out with the order... Thanks again.

You will need parts from a 70-72 door. 68 or 69 are not the same. Visit me I'm in Austin, Tx. and have 30 plus 70-72 Cutlass parts cars.

I can not understand why you can not find parts in SA! Same parts as any 70-72 GM A body, Chevelle/Lemans/Skylark, MonteCarlo and GrandPrix.

Anytime. BTW, I'd tell the bodyshop they are responsible to buy a replacement manual - not you. You sure you want them to finish working on your car? It might not be as 'complete' as you hope......uh, we couldn't find all the brake parts so the brakes don't work.... The electrical harnesses got lost..... Sorry, I'd be running from a place that loses stuff instead of packing it into the car.

Oh I already pulled the car from this shop! He has done four cars for me and taken longer and longer each time.... So when I put this car in his shop we had an agreement that it would only take 4 months to paint, that was two years ago LAST NOVEMBER!!! uggg
