68 442 Spark plug retainers for brackets.

I am looking for both of the black plastic spark plug retainers that go on a 68 442 engine.

Are you referring to these?

Or the ones that slide onto metal brackets?

The one at the bottom (which goes to the driver side) then there is one that goes on the passenger side that also slides into a metal bracket but it only hold (2) spark plug wires.

I seem to recall someone mentioning that the Pontiac GTO of that same era also had the same or similar bracket and two wire holder for the passenger side that is being reproduced. You might want to check some of the Pontiac parts providers to see if they do have something that looks authentic enough (either identical or close to it) that you can use for the passenger side.

That bottom one is available from OPGI.

...and I've heard the passenger side bracket and wire holder are reproduced on the Pontiac side but I haven't researched it myself.

It's funny because OPG sells it for $23.99 but OldBuick.com sells the exact same part for $4.75 it pays to shop around.

I thought that two wire bracket was only used on the passenger side.

If you are only looking for the plastic part it should be the same as the lower ones pictured below. These are for BBC and any classic chevy parts dealer should have them. If you cannot find the metal bracket, it should be easy enough to make something close.

It's all in the details

Out of all four of them i can only use (1) of the two wire holders as the four wire holder is different than the original as the one wire all the way to the right as a larger separation from the other three (see the first picture all the way to the beginning of the thread) which can actually be purchase separately. It would be nice if companies like Inline Tube reproduced a complete set just like the original set. One year only parts.

I realize the olds 4 wire is different, but you asked where to find a two wire holder as well. This is why I said what you are looking for should be the same as the lower ones in the picture. You may be able to find them separately, but if not, you can find BBC sets for less than $15 and buy the 4 wire olds piece on its own.
