68 442/Cutlass trunk molding

On the hunt for a NOS or mint pit-free rust-free trunk lid molding. All nut posts should be intact. I'll look at anything nice or nicer.
Please send a few clear pics of the overall condition and some close-ups of the chrome. Include asking price as well.
I'll pay for bulletproof packaging in a PVC tube.
Coupe or convertible.

The convertible one is short Steve. You can only use a couple.

I'm primarily looking for a coupe trim. If I find a nice vert I can trade it for a coupe...or just buy the vert to go with it...lol.
You are correct Mike, as we know, the 68 vert main trunk trim is shorter and the two quarter trim pieces are longer vs a coupe.
Further confirming the different dimensions of the two 68 trunk lids.

The Coupe trunk trim is:
~62.50" long x 1.059" wide.
PN: 7795235

The Coupe extensions are:
~1.639" long x 1.059 wide
PN: 7795172 left
PN: 7795173 right

The Vert trunk trim is:
60 1/4" long assume same 1.059" wide
PN: 7795236

The Vert extensions are:
2 3/4" long x assume same 1.059" wide
PN: 7795170 left
PN: 7795171 right

All measurements are +/- a skosh"

Just so it's here and correct for future reference,...What are the measurements on the vert trim?
Do you know the PN? edit>Yellowstatue provided us with PN and some dimensions...Thank you, Sir!
Whoever can measure the verts pieces post it and I'll edit this and give credit.

Certainly interested, please send pics. Is this number 7724813/7724809 on the trunk trim? Or the end pieces?

They are on the trunk molding. Don't have the side pieces. I also have the climate control w/ac and cutlass fender emblem 8727372. These were in the trunk of my 64 cutlass conv when I bought it. I'll try and get some detailed pics tomorrow.

Wonder why the difference in part numbers?
Different supplier?
Different revision?
We have discussed before that some seem to come with the silver accent paint and some appear to not have it from the factory.

I assumed they all had the silver inlay. Some have piped up saying no.

The 772 numbers would logically come before the 779. Early vs late. Silver vs no silver??? Purely an observation/speculation.
Be interested to see some good pics of the 772 part. Both sides and some close up of the chrome. Try with & without flash. The pitting on the chrome will generally show up with flash.

casting numbers are rarely the same as parts book "part numbers"
the number cast on the part is often just the bare casting part number before machining/plating/painting/etc.

7724809 is the bare casting for the hardtop/coupe (long)
7724813 is the bare casting for the convertible (short)
you can see where the mold would be modified for the shorter part, or did they just cut off the ends & grind/finish the end surfaces for the convertibles before plating ???

With the notch near the end it would be logical to assume that they would cut the end off and polish.

I believe I purchased this trim from MI68442W30. If not I didn't receive a response from himyet.
Were both looking for good trunk trims. I'm currently working on getting one re-chromed. If I run into anything decent I'll pass it along unless I find NOS.

Much appreciated.

Do you have a good chrome plater? I have used Librandi Plating in PA with pretty good results. My trim is pitted badly with a couple of missing studs. They quoted a minimum of $750.

Haven't sourced a re-chrome job yet?
