'67 Toronado / 88 / 98 tilt/telescopic steering wheel

****EDIT**** Got what I needed - thank you!!!

My '67 three spoke wheel is pretty bad. I'm looking to replace it with either a standard or deluxe style tilt/tele wheel from either '66 or '67. It's different than the regular wheels without the telescopic function, so regular wheels won't work. Let me know what you have! It doesn't have to be perfect - mine is pretty cracked up. "Reparable and usable as-is" would be a good one for me to consider. Thanks!

Current wheel - front looks decent, back is in pieces...

Just a heads up, the 1968 tilt tele wheel looks the same as your pictures. The 1966 Toronado had a different steering wheel and to release the telescopic action one would twist the center steering wheel emblem.

The 68 tilt/tele wheel is similar but not quite the same as 67. Also, 68 has a rim blow horn (rubber ring integrated into wheel that you squeeze to activate the horn) intead of a horn pad.
Here is my 68 wheel for comparison:

Thank you for sharing Tom. I've got a couple 1968 tilt tele columns but hadn't realized they were rim blow wheels. So they wouldn't be an easy swap. It would have to be a 1967 wheel to be an easy swap.

I think the wheel itself will fit. It just will not look quite the same as a 67 wheel. There is also a good chance the rim-blow switch has gotten hard over the years. Unlike Mopar and Ford units, the GM switch is not designed to be removed. I had to epoxy a 69 Mustang switch into my wheel and then body-work to it as it was about 1/8" narrower than the original oldsmobile switch.

Sorry to jump in, I just had a quick question. How do you adjust the telescopic feature on a 67? The 66 had the **** in the center that you twisted but it's not there on the 67.

Zoom in on Mike's and Loaded's pics and you'll see a small **** sticking up just above the steering wheel hub. Move it to left to unlock the wheel and adjust it in or out. Move back to the right to lock it in desired position.

I appreciate all the information here. In ‘67 they had a wheel very similar to the ‘66, only the spokes were black instead of chrome. I know the column is the same for 66-67, so I imagine a ‘66 wheel would fit if I had the whole collar assembly with the center locking mechanism. I wish I had taken one apart so I knew more about it.

Ahh excellent, I see it. GM must have been absolutely made of money in these days to redesign stuff like that every year. It's like they just had to change something just to say they changed it.
