66 Cutlass Gas Tank
Guys:
I need a nice condition, clean gas tank for my 66 Cutlass. If it does not have the sending unit, that is OK. Shipping to Grove City, Ohio 43123
Thanks, Ron

All of the replacements have 2 vents at the rear of he tank, mine only has one on the R/S near the front of the tank. I would rather get a OEM tank from a member if it is in nice condition.

All you have to do is buy a 66 Chevelle SPECTRUM/QUANTA tank from Rock Auto as they have the best price. Then remove the Chevelle filler neck and put your 66 Olds filler neck in the Chevelle tank and it will be totally correct tank.

Glad to help. Absolutely no reason to use a used tank when a top of the line repo tank will work and be exact. I think the tank in my car cost me $90 from Rock Auto and another $35 to have the Olds neck put in. If you look @ the 64-66 GM A-Body tank listings, they all are the 37 series GM tanks and all have the correct vent system and capacity. They are identical but the wagons use a different tank. I tried and tried to get Spectrum/Quanta to make the correct 66 tank by putting the 66/67 Olds filler neck in the 64-66 GM A-Body Chevelle tank to no avail. I worked with them for over 2 years trying to convince them all they had to do was put the Olds neck in a Chevelle tank to make it correct. I even sent them pictures,GM part #'s showing the 66/67 Olds tanks being different but they wouldn't listen. I think they put a tank out with part # 37F for a 66 Olds but it's without a filler neck and charged a lot more than you can buy a Chevelle tank for and the tanks are identical in every respect. I'm tired of typing.
