Reason: Two ed it
There is a 66 cutlass at one of the El Paso yards. Can put you in contact with one of the guys there. A bit too far for me, 130 mile round trip. Dave S Dona Ana NM
Actually was in this yard today getting something from another vehicle for a customer. Switch seems a bear to remove - am guessing a deep 1/4 inch socket not much room behind that dash with the air conditioning

Reason: Grammar
Looka that beautiful desert chrome! Yeah, PITA to get that out but it was all put together before the dash went in the car at the factory. Besides in the desert what's the worst you could find behind that dash- a Gila monster?!🙂
OP- if you could get that whole control for reasonable money, that would be a way to go.
Frankly have NEVER seen underdash plastics in this good shape in a classic era (64-72) Yard
car. Well almost, remember finding a 71-72 Monte Carlo in a New England yard, circa 1991 ish. Beautiful plastic dash and ductwork. Car atop a pile. Asked yard owner- could you set that car aside so can properly remove next weekend? Yep sure Mack. Of course they forked that Monte and moved the forks up and down in the windshield opening. Total butchery.
