64 starfire front brake dums
Looking for replacement front drums for 64 starfire. Dont want to go disc. And i dont care if they look stock.. Ive done some searching and rock auto list drums for 64 olds 98 but not starfire. Worth mentioning, the 64 olds 98 lists same wheel cylinders and shoes as the starfire, so assuming the drums may work.. also, i am running 15" wheels if thats an issue... resurfacing is not an option because one of my drums is badly damaged and while useable, it is severly out of balance. My only option is used, which i could do, but would prefer new. Any insight here? anyone know of a cross reference?
Thanks in advance.

RockAuto is NOT a factory parts book. Their on line catalog is notoriously inaccurate. The factory parts book shows that with the exception of the Jetstar 88 (which uses the smaller A-body brakes), all 1964 Oldsmobile full size models (Eighty Eights, Ninety Eights, Starfire, and Jetstar I) use the same front brake drums.
FYI, RockAuto DOES NOT sell the correct front drums for that application. Look carefully at their listing - the only front drums they list are 9.5". That is the common A-body drum. The correct drums for your car are 11". Once again, RockAuto's online catalog is incorrect.
You MIGHT be able to get drums from Kanter, which will be Chinesium drums that are guaranteed to be out of round right out of the box, so expect to have to turn those brand new drums. Alternately, contact mobileparts for correct old stock replacement drums. Good luck.

I didn't need front brake drums, but I did look at Pontiac and Buick on Rockauto for the right brake shoes (11" X 2"). I don't remember what I ended up with. I think there is a difference in drum sizes in the big Pontiacs (Catalina or Bonneville).
