64 or 67 front end.

Hello
Everyone. I recently picked up a 64 vista cruiser and im looking for a core support and front bumper. I however am contemplating putting a 67 front clip on instead since 64 parts are harder to come by in my area. If i go with the 67 front end however i need everything (hood, fenders, core support, grill, bumper, etc). Im located in Colorado i dont mind driving some distance but would prefer to keep it less than a day or two drive. Any leads would be helpful.

Thanks

Andrew

I have a very nice front bumper for a 64. I also have some nice front fenders for a 64. You can contact me @ pchopesq@aol.com

Thanks

You do realize that the fender contours on the 66-67 cars don't match the doors on the 64-65 cars, don't you?

I was afraid that might be a problem. OK let me ask you this. A 64 vs. a 67 core support. I know the grill and headlight mounts are different but are they the same fit and dimensions in regards to width and height and how they bolt to the fenders and frame? The way the 64 bolts to the fenders looks the same as the 67 i used to have. I really like the look of the 67 grill, lights and bumper I just wonder if i can keep the 64 hood and fenders and just do the 67 core support.

No, no, and no. Pretty much all sheet metal parts in those years are one year only. Also, 67 used a wider cross-flow radiator and I don't even think that core support fits between the frame rails of a 64.

I am wondering why you are asking so much about a 67 on the 64. Do you have access to a 67 so trying to make it work? A 65 might work as they share many things. But 66 up is way different. Forget your 67 thoughts what so ever.

Actually, they don't. Nothing interchanges between 64 and 65. Even the fenders are different. You CAN swap the entire nose between those years, but you have to swap everything. I've done this before (64 front end on a 65).

I have some really nice doors from a 65, I have 65 fenders, that need a little work, but not bad at all. I have a good hood from a 65, and a nice grill. I should have just about everything you need if you change to 65. I live just south of Dallas Texas.
