Anyone out there who can help with the gas door chrome?
My 56 Super 88 convertible does not have it and I believe it should be there?

Not all cars have it. It was an optional accessory and both the factory and aftermarket produced them. It shouldn't be difficult to find one as all I've seen were made of stainless steel. Even on a used one any damage could be picked out and polished to look like new.
