455 power steering pump pulley needed
Hi all, please forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this!
To sum it up: I need a two belt pulley for my ’69 Olds 455 (keyed, held on with nut).
I bought a new pump, and a new two belt pulley from RockAuto. Put it all together (thanks to you all for previous posts on brackets/spacers/shims—holy crap this process sucked and nothing would line up!), and my pulley is wobbly! When I hand tighten the nut, its barely holding the pulley on and I can “tweak” the wobble out of the pulley so it runs true—however when you tighten that nut, it wobbles.
This pulley slips on and off like nothing, no tools needed. So last night I measured the shaft diameter on the pump at .6235” and the pulley ID measured at .6270” to .6275” so it is a bit off.
Even when I bottom out this pulley by hand, I can still wobble it a bit, so I have a feeling this is my problem.
Does anyone have an original GM pulley for sale that has a good bore, not bent, or wobbles?
