455 block

A guy that moved a little too slow on a block I had for sale called me wondering if I knew of a 455 block for sale. Told him I would check. It's in a jet boat and it cracked between the freeze plugs. For one, is it repairable? Otherwise, anyone in Texas or really anywhere have a block floating around? He's in Dallas.

Looking for one in the Houston area. Or reasonable driving distance. Or can get it there for a reasonable price. I have the guys number and will put you in contact with him.

What are you thinking is a reasonable price?

I see but then shipping would be how much from where you're at to his location?

We didn't get into that discussion. He asked me about mine and I ended up selling it locally. So I came here hoping to see if anyone was local enough to him or had a way to get it to him. If you have a block and would like his number, I'll be glad to give it to you. I'm not really in a position to speak for what he thinks is "reasonable". I mean, someone has a block for sale or they don't, worst he can say is no.

With the additional cost of shipping. He appeared to be willing to work with shipping since he asked.

I'm not that familiar with the jet boat engines; but, he may be able to do a "half pour" with Hard Block to just above the freeze plugs. Any body know for sure, yea or nay?

Will do. He said he may have found one but I'll check tomorrow because he mentioned wanting to build a couple engines.
