394 project

Does anyone out there have a single 4 barrel aluminum intake for a 1962 394 for sale ? I know they're like hen's teeth but I figured I'd ask . Thanks......394 Guy .

They are rarer than hen's teeth .
In the more than 50 years that I have been around Oldsmobile 394's.
I have never seen or heard of an aluminum aftermarket four barrel manifold .
Just two four and 3 x 2 manifolds .
Offenhauser still makes 2 X 4 and 3 X 2 manifolds on special order through Exeter Auto Supply .
Used Weiand 2 X 4 manifolds frequently appear on E-Bay .

Thanks Charlie, as you can see , I'm not on my computer often enough to send timely replies. Your a wealth of Oldsmobile knowledge.

And BLOWER MANIFOLDS!😼

Y'all forget blown 394s ruled Gasser drag classes in the 60s. I guess that's why there aren't many 394s left...

Blown 394 hooked to a B&M modded HydraMatic and a 57-64 Olds rear. OMG. Fast and violent.

I'm going to use a 1958 371 ( high compression ) harmonic balancer on my 394 if it will work !? I haven't started this engine and won't be for a while so I hope it'll do. It fit on the 394 crank nicely.

It fit on the crank . But did you check the pulley groove alignment ?
May not be the same .
The part numbers are different , so there is obviously some difference in them .
In fact there are different numbers for almost every year from 58 thru 62 .

Thanks for this information Charlie. The balancer grooves line up with the above pulley grooves but I'm going to track down the proper balancer. for peace of mind.
