I think you are going to have a difficult time finding original window cranks because the original plastic ***** deteriorated rapidly. There are reproduction ***** you could put on your handles or complete handles available, of course they are for Chevrolet’s because there is a bigger market for them. If you really have your heart set on originals ebay is probably your best source probably one or two at a time unless you get really lucky and see a nice set advertised.
Not sure if Buick is the same but we have a company here in Australia that reproduced Buick ones in cast stainless. Pictures are of the Buick (Fisher body) ones that they reproduce. Their prices are about US$100 each.
Quality is very good and I'm about to get them to recast the hood ornament for my 1935 Olds.
Here is a link to their site if your interested. They ship internationally and everything is made to order so can be a little bit of a wait and their prices are in Aussie $ so a bit over 30% less with the exchange rate. http://www.vintageandclassicreproductions.com/buick.htm
Do your '38 handles have the same black "chevron" pattern on them that my '37 handles have? The plastic on my interior handles is a greenish gold swirl pattern which, to my knowledge, no one has been able to yet duplicate. I, too, am in search of spare interior handles for my '37, although all of mine are still intact. I am also searching for the greenish gold plastic escutcheon pieces that go under the handles.
Best Regards,
Russ
