Oldsmobile basement

I added some bits & pieces to the ever evolving Oldsmobile basement that Mrs. Packrat insisted we have.
There are items in this picture that I have gotten from 4 different members on this site, I try to buy as much from you as you guys buy from me.

Scott:
She's a Keeper, just like the one I have had since 1975.
Thanks, Ron

Moved the clock, mounted a '59 Lincoln inst. cluster, a '64 Grand Prix dash, '59 98 clock cluster, & a forgotten year Olds. cluster over glove box. Not all Oldsmobile stuff but cool none the less.

I wonder what the town and country modes were on the radio?

I remember seeing some old radios that had Local and Distance buttons. Maybe it's something like that where the town would be a local station and the country would be distance or far away? Not sure. Reminds me of the Blues Brothers when they go into that bar and ask what kind of music do they play there and they say "Oh both kinds, Country and Western".

"Town and Country" varied the tuning discrimination -
For "Town" where the stations were presumed to be closer together but stronger, the discrimination was higher.
For "Country" where there would be fewer stations, farther apart, there was greater sensitivity, but less discrimination.

Eric,
Thanks for the explanation. Kind of what I was thinking but didn't verbalize it like you did.

Did anyone notice what time the clocks on the Lincoln & 98 were set to?? The pontiac clock won't move or I'd have set it there also.

This is so cool. I am working on a wall art of a 67 442 back end. I am looking for a tailpipe tip from a rotten tailpipe that has the correct stainless tip to make it look just right. I really like some of your ways to use cranks and *****. Will no doubt plagiarize some of your ideas.

Nice work

Brian,
You have some cool stuff also I see!

Bfg,
I try to steal an hour or so a week to work down here. I got tired of this stuff just sitting in boxes or on shelves unseen & unappreciated.

Larry,
Make sure to post pictures of your stuff when you can, I'm sure others would appreciate it. Put a post in the parts wanted section for that tail pipe? I'm sure someone has one.

Patrick
Yes, Rocket Fuel, only available at the national meet this year. Specially made in a small batch of 650 or so?? I saw a few floating around the meet & grabbed one while I could.

Paul,
One of your pieces of art will be here at some point.

I may have one Larry. My '67 had one original chambered tailpipe and one aftermarket replacement tail that someone welded the rusted-out chambered end of the other OE tail to. I saved most of the original exhaust... give me a chance to see if I still have that bastardized tailpipe around.
