Confirmed, We are pretty sure that i need the 1972 3 groove pulley that would have come on an A/C model car.

Anyone have a spare?

Pulleys

I have a few, none have that elusive KO on it. I checked the OPM it showed a 3 groove @5.75"dia, the two larger are slightly larger or smaller than 5.75, while the smallest is about 1/4" under. Take a look, let me know. Brett

Hey Tony - get a measure on that middle one. It's a 3 greave pulley, and the bell is lower. Might fit. Compare measures as before. There will likely be more than just KO pulleys that will fit.

Al, Great catch! Hopefully i can get a couple measurements by the time i get home this week.

I asked Mike to take a measurement of his KO pulley, he said it's 2.875 on the dot. Hopefully one of these will line right up!

2.750 face to back of sheave rim, and 5-13/16 sheave Mac OD. So a washer or two under the sheave on the WOstuds should make it pretty close. Your thoughts?

If you got the long-snout HD-cooling pump, you would want a pulley with more offset, like the one on the left or possible the one on the right. Are there any numbers or markings on the new pump that you have?

That does NOT look to be the longest snout available,so I am going to guess that you need the pulley on the left.I could check my 72 455 if/when I get a chance. It has the original pump & pulleys still intact.

I'm looking for the same thing for my 72' 350. But mine does not have A/C. The water pump was replaced before I got it & it has this ugly silver pulley that is clearly not right for the motor. Looking from the side of the engine you can see the belts are off at an angle. Not sure if the PO put on the correct water pump.

Tony from your last group of pics-1st pic if total height from water flange to hub face is 5-5/8(I think) what did your old pump measure in same dimension? And is that a pic of your water pump as installed w/ 2 groove pulley on it with red arrows and 2.125d?

If you have the 5.6" pump, KF water, KC crank, and KH steering will work together
If you have the 6.1" pump KB crank KO water and KH steering will work.

I checked my 72 455,which had AC & HD cooling, and it has the long 6" or 6.1" snout on the pump.
The dimensions that you gave of your new pump, sound like the dimension of the 70 HD-cool pump, which would then lead me to believe that you need the pulley in the middle. If I can get more time,I will try doing some mock-ups.J-Chicago has the applications correct.

Dear All,

Got a great looking powercoated pulley from Mike. The pulleys line up REAL close. All i might need is a washer or two under the lip and it should be perfect.

What do you guys think?

Man, now i wanna have the rest of my pulleys powder coated...
