1970 posi rear

1970 posi rear

Looking for a 1970 442 posi rear end for a AC car, 12 bolt. 3:42 or 3:23 would work ok thanks. Greg

The factory didn't install any gears lower than 3.23 in A/C cars.

That being said, I have a 3.23 OPEN rear in a '70 442 rolling chassis, if you are interested. Thanks, Bob.

Not sure what you mean by open ?? looking for what I call positraction unit or maybe called a limited slip--either way want both tires burning rubber on pavement----------------thanks

The term "open" refers to a NON POSI rear end. I just wanted to let you know what was available as there are options to add a posi to it. I apologize for the confusion. Thanks, Bob.

okay wanting the Non-open style, let me know if you come up with one, or how much would it cost to convert your open one ?? thanks---Greg

All it would take is a new / different posi carrier and swap the ring gear from the open carrier to the posi carrier. Done it many times with the various rears that have been under my car.

New posi carriers are available - they are Ford 8.8" units that have been machined for the O-Type ring gear bolt pattern. You can possibly get one from monzaz or Brian Trick here on the forum or from Super Cars Unlimited.
