FYI, I never re-installed the ones on my car after painting it because the paint was thicker than factory, and installing the edge guards would peel the paint because they are a tight friction fit. Even on the original paint, they were very hard to install and scratched the paint. After painting the car, I got some plastic glue-on edge guards from the local auto paint supply store, and they look very similar to the originals.
