Post 1968 Oldsmobile 98 gravel deflector

I’ve been searching for gravel deflectors that go underneath your front light between the light and the bumper but I’m having no luck being able to find some for my 1968 Oldsmobile 98 convertible. Can anyone point me in the right direction

So I just looked and I do not have the stone guards. I do have all of the other trim we talked about though.

The stone guards are just a piece of shaped metal on my ‘66 big car. And in my year they sit underneath cleanly finished pieces of bumper and grille. Perhaps yours is the same.

Consider bending up some flat aluminum and painting it flat silver to fill the gap while you look for factory pieces. Even if your metal work isn’t perfect, the imperfections should be mostly hidden by the factory parts that show. If it were me, I’d mock it up in cardboard. Get the shape just right, then transfer the pattern to aluminum, then cut and drill as needed.

I can also recommend a phone call to Turner’s Auto Wrecking in or near Fresno, CA. Plus CTC Auto ranch in Texas and maybe Desert Valley Auto in AZ. They may well have what you’re looking for. A saved eBay search may help too.

I have a strong preference for correct factory parts, but sometimes you just gotta fabricate. I’m taking greater liberties as time goes on with stuff like carburetor bushings & transmission shifter bushings. The old stuff wears out, replacements aren’t available, so unless you make something, you deal with sloppiness that the factory didn’t really intend. Crisp and clean shifters and gas pedals feel great.

Cheers
Chris

Its a piece of plastic on each side, I had one good one on the 1968 Delmont I dismantled but already sold it. Attached is the ebay listing that has pictures of it. I still have the other side, but its broken.
