1968 442 lower hood release paddle type, not the steel rod
1968 442 lower hood release, I require the paddle type not the rod with the loop. I purchased a rad support but it is not for the rod type like my original, there is no hole in it. If I cannot find a paddle type I guess I can drill a hole in the brace to accommodate the rod.

Ya, the paddle type is the early design. Not sure where the cut-in is? Certainly after September 67.
Not 100% sure on interchange but if you are not looking for originality the second design is a little more robust if it bolts in?
Though my early car paddle design has survived 51 years.
The secret to survival is keeping things lubricated. Then it won't distort the first design rod.
