1967 Oldsmobile 400CI

I am looking for a full set of ORIGINAL .921 lifters that came out of a 67 E block. I have searched far and wide for lifters that won’t spew oil out of the top and I have been told the valve and metering of remade lifters do not work for these engines. If anyone has a set of originals please let me know.

For clarification, do you want good lifters to use in the engine, or do you want used lifters to salvage the internal parts?

Please take a look at post #82 in this thread

If these could possibly be what you're looking for, they have just been refinished by Egge and I would make you a good deal on them. Note I have 14 that might be what you want, and 2 that are different. Mark can set you up with a new set (that's what I just bought), but they are quite expensive fyi.

Johnson hylift sells 921 lifters, made in USA. They are the best in the industry

Years ago got a set from EGGE and they were fine. Then heard the ones they sold had the excessive oil issue. Got a set from Johnson and they are fine. I would think by now any company selling these lifters would be aware of the oil issue? One would think...

OK Here is my 2 cents, I did a rebuild of one of my 67 400's about a year or two ago and used the Johnson lifters(Purchased directly from them no middleman). I had an oiling problem unrelated to the lifters but in the course of figuring that out i noticed a s#$t load of oil going up to the rockers. Contacted Johnson spoke at length with them more than a few times. They were unconcerned and could not have cared less. And then they just ignored me. They were not interested in solving the problem or even open to recognize a possible problem. I then put restricted pushrods in and that got things under control. I was not burning oil or any other ill effects form it to start, had i not been searching for a oil psi problem possibly i would not have noticed it. Did another build/refresh on another 400 motor kept the Factory OEM cam and lifters. Normal expected flow from them. Thats my experience take it for what its worth.
