1967 fullsize washer pump (bellows & spring retainer)
1967 Delta 88
Finally opened up my windshield washer pump to see why it doesn't work, found that the electrical is all solid but it's missing a huge chunk of the rubber bellows. Possibly an earlier repair attempt that ended in failure to find parts, the upper sealing portion of the bellows is there as are the spring and spring-collar, but the inner cup of the bellows is gone, along with the retainer for the spring.
At about $30 for a full kit with bellows but no new retainer, and $60 for a full washer unit, I figured I'd ask around here. The Dorman kit with the o-rings and plastic housing pieces (#54000, unless I'm mistaken?) is $6 so effectively paying $24 just for a piece of rubber seems a tad ridiculous.
I understand that all original parts are 50 year old rubber, so if anyone has any leads on a reasonably priced new one instead of an original donor part, I'm all ears.
As for the spring retainer, is there anything easily found that I'd be able to sub in for the original or do I need one out of a parts car? If it's a very specific part I need, I'd be interested in tracking down one of those too.
Will update this as I hunt locally as well, though I'm doubtful I'll find anything around here besides the generic rebuild kit. Thanks!
Edit: the more I look the less sure I am about the parts I'm finding, as none list fitment for my car. What's the bellows interchangeability like?
