Many upholstery shops have button makers. You will probably have to purchase half a yard of the proper vinyl , unless they just happen to have a scrap piece hanging around.
Anyway , check with upholstery shops in your area.

bump for Randy. Charlie, There are no shops that make the square buttons. Believe me, I looked everywhere before Randy bought this car.

A square button. Yeah , I forgot that Olds used square buttons on mid-sixties Cutlass.
Maybe someone who has just replaced their upholstery would have some. They could be dyed if they are the wrong color.

Call these guys... or locate someone on the site living near vancouver, wa/Portland oregon who's willing to go out & dig for a bit to help ya:
http://www.allamericanclassics.com/
I was down there last year (its 5 hours from me, so no I can't help) and saw several cutlass's & vista wagons in their yard that had the 'X' style seat covers that you are talking about with the square buttons. I actually thought abut snagging some, but didn't have any tools with me, and had no specific need.
anyway, worth a shot.
