1965 firewall plate
plate
It's the plate that bolts to the firewall and I think has a clamp that holds the column. I don't have one to compare it to and really don't know how it attaches to the car.I have been offered one for a 1967 but I'm trying to determine if they are the same. I think 64-66 are the same but I'm not sure but don't know about the 67. Let me know, Thanks, Hal
There are at least two versions of that plate. One is pretty solid and the other has a large hole going through it for the clutch pedal rod to go through. There is not a clamp on it. It is basically shoved over a rubber sleeve on the column. If this is a column shift automatic it should use the solid plate. Many automatic floor shift models use the one with the hole and then block the hole.
If the person that previously replied didn't find one for you let me know. I have both styles still on extra '65 columns. Can also supply pictures if you want to verify the part or application.

Thanks for the information. I figured that was the way they were made after a number of member's replies and pictures they sent. I've made a deal and sent the money for an automatic plate. I'll keep you in mind if the other deal goes south. Thanks,Hal
