I had a '64 Jetstar 88 for about five years back in the 1990s. You might be able to find the glass itself new at the sites mentioned, but it is very unlikely that you will find all the other parts in one single, convenient, click a few buttons to order website. None of this sort of thing is made new, and there is no one-stop shopping for it. Get online and start doing part searches amongst the various used parts websites. That's how I found several sources for a bumper I needed once. They search all over the country in one mouse click. You get a list of hits (hopefully), and then call them individually to see if they actually have the part.

Several I have used are

http://www.car-part.com/

http://www.northwesternautosupply.com/

http://www.eastwestautoparts.com/searchwelcome.html

You might also get a recent copy of Hemmings Motor news and call some of the vendors advertising in the Oldsmobile Parts section.

Here's a little known secret...

You can get the parts you need from any 1963-64 B-body GM car of the same bodystyle. In other words, a Chevy fits a Pontiac fits an Olds fits a Buick.

This might make your search a little easier, since there's tons of stuff reproduced for Impalas.

The hardtop and convertible windows are completely different!!! The back Glass on a '63/'64 Starfire Htp. is concave as it is with the Pontiac Gran Prix. If you are looking for the Glass only for a Conv. 1/4 Windows then they have to come from a Convertible. If you still need the hardware, it too will have to be donated from a Conv.

Starfire hardtop quarter windows will not fit your application. They'll have to come from a B-body convertible. The "same bodystyle" is critical for body glass.

Like I said before all Dynamic 88, and Starfire Convertible 1/4 windows are interchangeable with Jetstar 88 Conv. including '64 Chev, Pont., and Buick rear 1/4 indows from Convertibles "ONLY"

Just trying....

I have a '63 Starfire Conv. that's been sitting in my garage for parts for Fourty years and just six months ago my son thought he can fix it. He has repaired the Frame put in a new trunk floor and a complete Floor Pan inside the car,and now has the front clip off the car with the Motor and Tranny pulled because it was seized, so those windows are now spoken for... I have a really nice set of rear 1/4 windows from a Super 88, but they are from a 2 dr. htp. and they're out of the question. I have power motors and the complete assembly for inside the 1/4's but again I don't think they'll be of any use to you.

Where are you located, as I was just talking to a guy in Central Ontario who is trying to sell front fenders from a '63 Starfire Conv.

$3500 and you can have my 64 Jetstar Convt and my 64 Dynamic 4-door both. That should give you all the parts you'll need and then some.

Tried to call him and he's out for several Days. That $3500 for two Jetstars sure sounds like a good plan because you don't know what you're going to need down the road even if you have to pay for storage some where to keep them untill your plan unfolds

I meant to say $3500 for Two Oldsmobiles is a good deal (one being a Jetstar & a Dynamic 88) not that I was in possesion of similar vehicles!!!

If anybody is interested in more info on my 64 Oldsmobiles, just call me anytime. I do not want to part the cars out. I would rather sell them whole. The Jetstar convt runs and drives and I drive it every summer. It needs frame work though. The 64 Dynamic is a four door with the 394 and It runs but I have only driven it around the yard. I also have another 64 Dynamic that is a 2 door that is quite solid but needs a transmission and may need the engine rebuilt ( I have 2 394 engines and 1 slim jim tranny for it)

I don' mind phone calls so feel free to call my cell phone.

I have always been under the impression Jetstars had 330 cu. in. engines not 394 cu in.

The Jetstar 88 has the 330 ci. The Dynamic 88s that I have both have 394 ci engines. Sorry for the confusion.

If you're doing a full restoration, you should definitely consider having a parts car (or two). This is speaking from experience. There's no way I could have turned a basket case 1970 convertible Cutlass Supreme SX from this:

into this:

without a parts car! (and lots of money)

Best of luck,

Dan

Well, don't be too despondent.

I had a Jetstar 88 for five years, and that 330 moved it along just fine.

The 330 was actually a very good engine and quite powerful for its displacement. The thing that killed me about the J88 was those small brakes.

I think they'd have probably come out about the same cost-wise if they'd used the Dynamic 88 big brakes instead of having two different sizes that have always been a source of confusion on these cars.

Perhaps so, but the entire point at the time was to come out with a "new, low-priced, full-size 88." Olds wanted a car that would give them at least a bit of a chance to compete for some business in the "low-price field," which was Ford, Plymouth, and Chevy.

MrJetstar,

You should also know that the front suspension on the 64 Jetstar88 (with the 330) is different than the Dynamic88s and the other '64 Oldsmobiles that had the 394s in them.

Definitely spend the money on the complete set of service manuals. They are being reproduced and are available. Having access to the information in the manuals will probably answer 99% of your questions.

Best of Luck,

Dan

When you get it changed to disk, let us know how you were able to do it as I've tried for a long time and I've never found a conversion other then welding in another front clip from a late model Olds.

If you're referring to the 1970 Cutlass, it was restored to original and has the standard power brake booster and cylinder for all four drum brakes.

Keep us posted. Remember, just because they share the same B-Body doesn't mean the parts interchange. That's why you'll notice in the manuals it always seams to say "exc. Jetstar" meaning that a part will work on all 64 Oldsmobile models Except or Excluding the Jetstar model because it used a unique suspension setup. But I'm sure you'll figure that out soon. LOL

Not much from a '64 chev fits Oldsmobiles, then again that's why Jetstars are so unique because not much interchanges with them.
Keep us posted Mr. Jetstar 'cause new information is always needed.
