I don't know where to get one. Before Katrina, you probably could have found a used one in the salvage yards along Old Gentilly Road; Katrina destroyed most of it. The last time I was there I found a 1954 Olds, but the hinges are not the same as 1953. For 1953 the group number is 8.015 and the part number is 563141 for the L.H. hinge. You may have to "rebuild" the one you have. That part number is for 1953 only.

that might be a bit of a challenge.
Honestly check ebay often, otherwise it might be best to look into rebuilding or restoring the original.
Could try calling some of the classic car salvage yards in Cali and so on.
Unfortunately parts like that are just so hard to come by it seems
